The English Ibizan hound Club (EIHC)
The club was founded in 1966. The first president of the club was Mrs Isobel Holt, the chairman was Mrs A St. E. Cardew, the secretary was Diana Berry, and joint treasurers were Mrs J Anderson and Mr Ben Reynolds-Frost. In 1973 Mrs Holt left Sussex to live in Spain, her position then being taken up by Mrs Cardew, whose position was in turn taken by Mr Reynolds-Frost. The next change in committee occurred in 1978 when Mrs Anderson retired as treasurer, and Miss S Jenkins took her place. Diana Berry was made a life member in that year. The committee remained static until 1982, when Mr M Harrison was made chairman as the standing chairman felt that a change was needed. Mr Harrison stayed in this position for the next 2 years, then giving up the position to Mr Reynolds-Frost again, who was also elected to vice-president, and made a life-member. The committee again remained the same until 1989. Since this date, there have been too many changes to list. See below for a list of the current committee (as of October 2006).

Club Yearbook / Newsletter
In 1967 Diana Berry started the EIHC newsletter. Originally untitled, it became known later as "All Ears". Mrs R Harrison was one of many who took over as editor over the years. It was decided to amalgamate the newsletter into the yearbook in 2003 due to falling levels of contributions.
The yearbook includes a current list of the club officers and committee members, a copy of the KC Breed standard, A current list of members, a judges list and judges criteria, the code of ethics, a letter from the editor, a roundup of CC and Res.CC winners and various articles and adverts. Also included is the club points trophy tariff, useful telephone numbers and a list of the current year's Champ show judges.
Contributions are welcomed from anyone with anything to say about the breed. Adverts may be placed for your dog(s). They can include text and colour photographs. The price is currently GBP15 per page. All contributions should be sent to the yearbook co-ordinator at the address below.
Points trophies
The EIHC run a yearly points competition, with trophies awarded for
- Top Adult: Points can be gained at open and Champ shows in Ibizan hound classes
- Top Puppy: Points can be gained at open and Champ shows from Ibizan hound classes
- Top AVNSC: Points can be gained at open and Champ shows in AVNSC Classes
- Top Brood Bitch: The award is based on the sum of points gained by a bitch's progeny (of all ages) over the year. The bitch whose puppies have accumulated the most total points is awarded the trophy
- Top Stud Dog: As for brood bitch.
In order to be eligible for a trophy, a dog's owner (or all partners if a dog is held in partnership) must be a current member of the EIHC at the time of the EIHC Championship show.
In the event of the owner(s) of a dog winning the top awards not being a member of the club, the award will be given to the next highest dog.
All members will be sent a form for entry to the points trophy awards, along with a tariff of points attainable.
Please ensure you use separate forms for top adult, Top AVNSC and Top Puppy, as this makes it easier for the person counting the points.

Breed Welfare
Miss J Startup works tirelessly on behalf of the welfare section of the club running the breed rescue. Most good breeders will be prepared to take their progeny back if there are problems in a home, but if this is not possible, Jenny will do everything possible to ensure that the welfare of dogs in the breed is maintained. Her contact details are listed below.
Donations of money or goods to the rescue fund are always welcomed.
